A good roof is only as solid as what's underneath it. That's not a slogan - it's just how roofing works. When we tore off the old shingles on this job, we found exactly what we expected to find on an aging roof: worn, damaged decking that wasn't going to hold up under a new install. So we dealt with it.

We replaced the damaged sections with fresh OSB decking before anything else went down. Some contractors skip this step or patch around it. We don't. If the deck is bad, it gets replaced - full stop. Skipping it just means the new roof fails faster, and that's not something we're willing to put our name on.

After the deck was solid, we ran ice and water barrier at the eaves. This is a self-adhering membrane that seals tight to the decking and creates a waterproof layer right where water tends to back up and cause the most damage. It's one of those details that's invisible once the job is done, but it matters every single time it rains.

Once the prep work was done the right way, we finished with Owens Corning Oakridge shingles in Onyx Black. It's a sharp-looking shingle with serious durability behind it - and it sits on a foundation that's actually built to support it. That's the whole point.

We handle residential roofing jobs like this one start to finish - tear-off, deck repair, underlayment, shingles, the works. No skipped steps, no shortcuts on materials. Just a roof that's built to last.
